New EMMC Cafeteria Delivers on Taste

(Bangor, Maine) - It may sound farfetched to say that a hospital makes one of the best pizzas in Bangor, but it might just be true. Eastern Maine Medical Center’s new cafeteria is tantalizing taste buds with a wide range of options you would not expect to see at a medical facility, and it has people buzzing. To commemorate the opening of this highly anticipated space, Eastern Maine Medical Center is holding a celebration for patients, visitors, and staff. 

This new space is a much-needed replacement for the outdated cafeteria that was in service for over forty-five years, and goes above and beyond expectations. With unique features such as a stone hearth oven to create custom pizzas, pasta station serving up delights such as lobster mac and cheese, and a deli with made to order sandwiches, this new space has something for everyone to enjoy. Most importantly, it encourages healthier eating. The expanded salad bar offers an assortment of fresh berries daily, and and hearty soups are made in-house. Such changes encourage balanced meals for its customers. 

The celebration and ribbon cutting will begin with a few words from leadership and those involved in the project at 10 am on Friday, June 30 in the EMMC dining room. The celebration will include giveaways, free samples, and dieticians will be stationed inside the cafeteria to provide healthy eating suggestions and answer nutrition-related questions.
