EMMC Childbirth Education

Eastern Maine Medical Center's Women and Infant Services offers a variety of educational classes and support groups for expectant parents.

These programs are designed to give parents the information and support they need to have a positive birth experience, and a smooth adjustment to life with a new baby. Our philosophy of emphasizing family centered maternity care guides all of our programs, and we always encourage family participation.

We are proud to serve the women of northern, central, and eastern Maine, and aim to give every new mother and baby the best care possible as they prepare for birth and beyond.

All available classes are located in the right menu under classes.

*Please Note: In an effort to keep everyone healthy and support Eastern Maine Medical Center’s temporary visitor policy, our Breastfeeding Support Group, Sibling Class, and Infant Massage Classes, which meet at our State Street campus, will be on hold until flu season is over. Lactation consultants are available by phone seven days a week at 973-8673, and will call all new moms a few days after discharge to check in. More information about our temporary policy can be found here: https://emmc.org/News/Eastern-Maine-Medical-Center-Implements-Temporary.aspx
