 Garrick J. Slate, MD

Dr. Slate was born in El Paso, Texas and graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After working for three years at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont he attended medical school in Debrecen, Hungary, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Center. After completing his obstetric and gynecology residency at the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, he worked in OB/GYN Medical Education at the Carilion Clinic. Dr. Slate joined the team at Women's Health Care of Maine in 2009.

Bergmans, Lois

 Lois Bergmans, CNM

Lois is a native New Englander. She and her husband have lived in Maine for 12 years and love it! About being on staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center since 2006 she  says, "It is a privilege to work at Women's Healthcare of Maine due to the high caliber of staff. It is great to be part of this team!"

Malvin, Barbara

Barbara A. Malvin, CNM,  MS

Barbara was raised in Lake Hiawatha, a small town in northern New Jersey. She joined Women's Healthcare of Maine in 2011 and has been a nurse for 30 years and a certified nurse midwife for 25 years. Barbara lives in Greenbush with her husband and three daughters.

Special Interests:  Helping women achieve the best birth possible. Exploring with women and their support teams all possible birth and pain control options.
