Welcome to Surgery and Trauma Specialists of Maine. At Surgery and Trauma Specialists of Maine, we provide healthcare coverage supported by specialists in general and trauma surgery, orthopedic trauma surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, hand, wrist, and peripheral nerve surgery, orthopedic reconstructive surgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday (except major holidays). We may be reached at (207) 973-4949. If you call after 3:30 p.m., you may receive a phone call the next business day. If your need is urgent and you are unable to wait for a return phone call, please go to your nearest emergency room.
OUR POLICIES
Prescription Refills
If you need a prescription refill between visits, please call us during business hours for prescriptions that have been ordered by us. Please allow 48 hours for all prescription refills. When calling for a refill, please provide the receptionist with your name and date of birth, the name of your prescription, pharmacy name and phone number, and the prescribing physician.
Please contact your primary care physician’s office for any prescriptions normally prescribed by him/her. Please be aware that if you have not been seen or treated by a Surgery and Trauma Specialists provider, we are unable to fill any prescriptions.
Pre-Registration
Pre-registering for appointments allows us to have your paperwork waiting for you when you arrive. Please call EMMC Pre-Registration Hotline toll-free at 1-888-973-8900 or, if your call is local, 973-8900. Representatives are available Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. You can leave a message after hours and we will call you back. You may also pre-register online at www.emmc.org/access.
Privacy/Confidentiality
Our practice is dedicated to your privacy and confidentiality. By law, we are only able to speak to the patient, patient’s parents (if a minor), or medical power of attorney unless an authorization to release health care information form has been completed.
Forms/Paperwork
Please allow 7-10 business days for completion of your paperwork to be filled out by a provider. Forms and paperwork will be sent to Health Information Services unless mailed directly to you.
Parking
Surgery and Trauma Specialists is located on the 3rd floor of the Webber West Building. The closest parking is the Webber Lot or the parking garage. If you park in the Webber Lot, please enter the building at the door closest to the lot. If you park in the garage, enter the Webber Building at the circle.
To make it easier for you, security can park your car. There is no charge for valet parking. For valet parking, please drive into the circle between the Webber Buildings and look for “Valet Parking” signs. Our security staff will assist you getting in or out of your car.
Billing Questions
Eastern Maine Medical Center accepts most local/regional health insurance plans and will bill your insurance company directly. EMMC does not bill any dental insurance company. EMMC may ask you to sign a Notice of Noncoverage for services that may not be covered by your insurance.
