A hospitalist is a physician or mid-level practitioner who specializes in caring for patients in the hospital. Hospitalists do not have an outside office practice, so they can devote all of their energy to your care while you are at Eastern Maine Medical Center. The EMIC hospitalists are board-certified internists, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners.
