Years of hard work and dedication from EMMC staff and providers of emergency medical services has culminated in the medical center being verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons in 2006. EMMC is the first trauma center in Maine to earn this verification. There are just 89 Level II Trauma Centers in the United States, and eight in New England.
