  Medical Benefits

The EMHS Employee Medical Plan is administered by CIGNA and offers our eligible employees a wide range of health services including preventive care, office visits, hospitalization, emergency care, mental health, and prescription drug benefits.

You are generally eligible to participate in the EMHS Employee Medical Plan if you are a part-time or a full-time employee of EMHS. Temporary long term part-time and temporary long term full-time employees are generally eligible (positions lasting longer than 90 days).

There are three medical plans available for the EMMC employee. They are:

  • Choice A
  • Choice B
  • Choice C

Choice A, Choice B, and Choice C have the same coverage for preventive care, provider office visits, hospitalization, and outpatient services, etc. All three plans also have an employer funded Choice Fund established to provide $1,000 for an individual and $2,000 for employees covering dependents as first dollar coverage. This Choice Fund is used to pay the first $1,000 or $2,000 of covered services. The fund is applied towards the plan deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. Additionally, any unused dollars in your fund at the end of the year roll over into your Choice Fund for use in following years. The only difference between plans is the amount of the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.
