Inpatient Medicine Opportunities

Eastern Maine Medical Center offers exceptional inpatient medicine opportunities. Our thriving practice includes 28 physicians and three extenders.  A collegial ethic and flexible approach characterize our work environment.  Responsibilities include co-managing care for adult and geriatric hospital patients, especially those receiving orthopedic, neurosurgical and vascular care; minimizing multiple medical complications, including polypharmacy; working with families choosing between home care and rehabilitation facilities, and coordinating eventual home-based care with primary care providers and providers of home care services. Work schedule is 40 hrs per week in a block schedule with no call. Applicants must hold an MD/DO or foreign equivalent with three years of residency, a Maine physician's license (or immediate eligibility for same), and be a BC physician, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (or Board certified within three years of employment).
