Our highly trained staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center understands that, for optimal results, the care any child receives must be specialized. It takes a team of caregivers, patients and families working together to provide the standard of care we all want for our children. We work collaboratively with you to design a treatment plan appropriate to your child's specific condition and unique circumstances. We work with multiple departments throughout the hospital to ensure every aspect of diagnostic and therapeutic care is fully encompassed and incorporated into the plan of care.
As the tertiary referral center for central, eastern, and northern Maine, the staff at Pediatric Surgery of Maine is committed to treating premature neonates, infants, children, and adolescents with round the clock coverage. This coverage is provided not only by our surgeons but also by our staff of neonatologist, pediatric intensivists, and anesthesiologists. Sites outside the operating rooms, where this care is provided, include the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), the Continuing Care Nursery (CCN), and the general pediatric floor. Our pediatric board certified surgeons are the only ones, north of Portland, who provide general and specialized surgical services to our little patients suffering from a wide range of congenital and acquired conditions.
